Meet our 2025 Head Honchos

Here with me are our two incredible Head Honcho’s for Maccabiah 2025. We have Jillian and Hillary. Being a Head Honcho is a tremendous amount of work. For that reason, I decided it would be a good idea to interview our Head Honcho’s by asking five questions so that you can get to know them better. Our Maccabiah lasts two incredible days and is filled with relay sports, creative arts and rope burning competitions as well as an epic soccer and basketball game.

Question #1: Hi guys! Can you please tell me a little bit about yourself:

Jillian: Hi my name is Jillian and this is my 11th summer at Camp. This summer I am the Shorashim Assistant Unit Leader.

Hilary: Hi Everyone, My name is Hilary and this is my 12th summer up the tall green mountain. This summer I am lucky enough to be the SIT Director (Staff In Training)

Question #2: When it comes to Maccabiah, what are you most excited about?

Jillian: I love seeing it all come together every little piece. This is such a special program that creates so much magic.

Hilary: I’m most excited about seeing all the spirit and ruach the kids have and how much the kids get involved. Maccabiah is so special because it really has stations for everyone to showcase their own talents like sports, arts and quiz competitions.

Question #3: How did you feel when they asked you to be a Head Honcho?

Jillian: I was very excited when they asked me. It has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It has felt like a very full circle moment.

Hilary: I was also so excited!! I feel very honored to be chosen.

Question #4: What goes into being a Head Honcho?

Jillian: So many things going into becoming a Head Honcho, for me coordination and understanding the program really stand out.

Hilary: A lot of planning of logistics and of course whimsy and thinking outside the box to help make the Maccabiah Magic.

Question #5 What is your favorite event at Maccabiah?

Jillian: My favorite has to be the the CMC Relay

Hillary: I love all of the creative competitions and tug of war!!!
